How to Move Forward After a Loss at Work

How to Move Forward After a Loss at Work

Why is it important?

Emotional Response to Tragedy (Stage I)

After a tragic event or the loss of a colleague, the whole team experiences emotional shock. People may feel confusion, guilt, or sadness, and work relationships can become strained. Emotional stabilization helps restore a sense of safety, reduce anxiety, and create space for healthy emotional expression. This session helps employees understand their reactions and learn to care for themselves and each other. It can be followed by the next stage – “Team Resilience After Crisis.”

Team Resilience After Crisis

Restoring Stability and Connection (Stage II)

Why is it important?

After a crisis, teams often experience a loss of trust, reduced motivation, or emotional exhaustion. When people go through challenges together, it’s essential to help them rebuild connection and confidence.
This workshop supports the team in moving from survival to strength — discovering personal and shared resources that help them grow and work together harmoniously.
It is recommended as a continuation of the training “How to Move Forward After a Loss at Work – Emotional Response to Tragedy.”

About the workshop

We explore how critical events impact a team and how they can emerge stronger from such experiences. Participants learn to recognize personal and collective strengths, express emotional needs, and foster a culture of resilience.
Through practical exercises, team members rediscover trust, unity, and shared direction.

Participants will explore:

  • How a team changes after a crisis and how to strengthen it.
  • What helps people recover and reconnect with their team.
  • How to rebuild trust when distance or silence has developed.
  • How to recognize individual and collective resources.
  • How to create a supportive and productive post-crisis atmosphere.

Benefits:

  • Strengthen trust and cooperation within the team.
  • Recognize personal and colleagues’ strengths.
  • Learn how to support each other in challenging moments.
  • Build a sustainable emotional foundation for future work.
